Summer Vacation

First off, I'll tell you about our vacation. First, we had a week at Nana's house with Dad, Mom, Cody, and me. We did lots of fun stuff, but then the time came to say good-bye. I was staying an extra week at Nana's house, but everyone else left for Utah to take Cody to college. During Nana Camp, the rest of the Fab Four came and we did all sorts of things, like cooking, sewing, learning how to ski, and we also went to see Toy Story 3. If you haven't seen it, do it right now! It's sooo good and hilarious! It's my favorite movie right now. Anyway, we went to see our neighbors' animals and got to gather eggs. It was so cool seeing all of the animals. We did get to see them before everyone left. Their cow was pregnant, but she didn't have her calf while we were there. We also went to Brookstone, a place for elderly people, and all of the Fab 4 did a dance to the song, "Man, I feel like a Woman." We also made a skirt and some pants. It was so fun! We took walks on almost every morning, and one morning we took a new path and found some flowers.

I actually got up on skis! In both of these pictures, I'm crouching and my knees are together.

Time to say goodbye. Nana gave us all little sheep. The youngest, which is me, got to choose first.

Then at the end of the vacation, I got strep throat. I love happy endings! It was kinda hard to talk cause my throat and glands were so swollen. I did have a fun time on vacation, though.

Spring Break Surprise

First off, I think I should tell you when Spring Break was. It was during the week of St. Patrick's Day.
Now, for the surprise: I got braces! They're green for St. Patrick's Day and surprisingly, they didn't hurt that much. I only got them on my top front teeth, but sometime soon I will get some on my bottom teeth, too. At first, it was a little difficult for me to get used to having braces, especially when I play my flute. Now, I'm really used to my braces, but I'll have to go through the same process, but with bottom braces.






Don't I look weird? Actually, the first thing I said when I saw myself like this was "Who's that?"

That's to show you that I also got my last 2 baby teeth pulled out. "You're not my baby anymore!" -Mom. Poor Mom, she doesn't get to have a baby, since my baby teeth are gone. I'm the happy one, but I don't know about her. I think she's glad, because she said that she hated watching me be in pain sometimes. "No more getting my teeth pulled from the dentist. Whoo!" -me. :)

Too Much

I've got a lot of catching up to do (that's what the title means), so lets just start out with the tons of snow that we got in February. Yeah, we got so much snow that it was ankle-deep. And then, the next day, since it snowed overnight, the snow was about mid-shin deep. It was crazy! I mean, come on! We live in Texas! I was only expecting a little bit of snow. Okay, in March, Dad was going to Florida for a business trip, and he wondered if we would like to go with him. We would be missing school for 4 days, but who cares? Go to school, or go to Florida, which has Disney World and Universal? I was all for Florida. When we got there, we didn't do anything special. Cody and I played ping-ping, but that was pretty much it for the day. On the first whole day that we were there, we were at Universal. It was great. There were so many rides that were inside and they were the movie type rides. We enjoyed them extra because it was so cold there. Cody and I also went on the Hulk, which is like Batman or Great White. It was interesting because instead of taking you up slowly to the top, the Hulk shot you up when you were about halfway to the top. Mom decided to go to Seuss Landing while she was waiting for us, and we saw her shopping for little Ashton and Hannah. She bought cute little Thing 1 and Thing 2 shirts for them. Mom and I also bought Thing 1 and Thing 2 sweatshirts for ourselves. Mom and I found The Cat in the Hat and Thing 1 and Thing 2. It was pretty cool seeing them.

We also went to the Jurassic Park place in Universal. It was so cool looking at all of the different dinosaurs. There was one place full of awesome stuff that you could just mess around with. In one part of Jurassic Park, there were dinosaurs that had a machine on their side that you could move their head with and see through. Also, when you talked into the machine, it made your voice sound funny.

We got soaked, and it was cold and windy. Good combo! It was worth it, though.

We had such a fun time at Universal.

The next day, we went to Epcot Disney, which had so many cool stuff. First, we went to The Sum of All Thrills (presented by Raytheon), which was amazing. Unlike any ride I've ever been on. First, you get to make your own ride. By the way, this ride is inside. You have this touch screen, and you choose if one or two people are riding, then you choose if you want the bobsled, roller coaster, or jet plane (mild to wild!), then you get to choose what course you want to go on, how tall you want the drops, and then you ride! This is just a simulation, of course. You get in, and then the machine that you are in will move, not very much, but when you are inside, it really makes you feel like you are on the ride. Inside the machine, there is a screen showing the course that you made. If that explanation doesn't make sense, just ride it and you will understand. Anyway, that was the really big thing at Epcot. We were only at Epcot for half of the day. The second half we were at Animal Kingdom.

Animal Kingdom was so much fun. I loved looking at the animals. Here are some cool pictures from Animal Kingdom.

Then, last but definitely not least, was the happiest place on Earth-Magic Kingdom. It was amazing. I felt happy just walking around. Especially when we were walking on Main Street. I just couldn't be sad. Or mad. We went on a cool ride. It was the Buzz Light year Space Ranger shooting ride. You get in the car. Then the car will start moving and you can start shooting stuff with your pretend laser gun. You have to shoot the signs that have the Zurg symbol on them. You could also spin yourself around. It was so fun. One of my favorite rides at Magic Kingdom. By the way this was my first time I've ever been to Disney World. Ever. Not even in another place.

Well, I hope you enjoyed reading the longest blog post in the world! That's what it seems like. I told you I had too much to talk about. I still have Spring Break to talk about! But that's for next time... B)

Happy Holidays

We had a white Christmas! First one I've ever had. Really, it's not that much snow, but hey! As long as it snows, I'm happy. We had a lot of fun playing in it.

A few days later after the first snow, it snowed a second time! Now that was amazing. I didn't think it was going to stick because it was raining right before it, but it did. I think it was a little more than the first snow. We made popcorn balls, too. It's always a lot of fun. :)

Christmas Eve and Christmas was fun, but really different, because Ashley was the only one who came home. Our house was empty. Christmas just snuck up on me and left just like that. On Christmas Eve we did our usual traditions, and, as always, we had a great time. Ashley, Cody, and I played our instruments. Ash on the French horn, Cody on the trombone, and me on the flute. Cody was drowning both of us out because his instrument's so loud. Especially on Frosty the Snowman, I think Cody was excited to play his part, because sometimes, I could barely hear myself while I played. Now good ol' Ashley was trying not to drown me out so we could hear myself, so Cody got to overpower both of us with his loudness. On the chimes, we messed up a lot on certain songs, but it was funny. Sometimes Dad or Cody would miss the chime and accidentally hit their leg, so instead of hearing a pretty note, we heard a thump and then laughter filled the room. Then, Mom read Peeky the Curious Elf and The Polar Express.
